Basic information on genealogical research in the Archive of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW):

Opening hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

A previous notification is necessary to reserve a seat in the reading-room.

Fees:

up to four hours EUR 5,00, one day EUR 8,00.

Members of the public who wish to use the records are expected to carry out their own research, but archive staff will provide advice on the availability of the records, how to find the information and how to request records.

A photocopying service is provided. The archive charges EUR 1,50 for each microfilm-copy taken from church records by staff members.

In case of written inquiries the archive staff will do research for you. The fees are EUR 18,00 per half hour up to a maximum of EUR 72,00.
